The season ten queens of RuPual Drag Race have arrived. With All Stars in mid-season and now the announcement of this milestone year, it seems that, thanks to VH1, the world officially belongs to Ru. Queens will now be on TV 24/7 and we are completely ok with it.
It’s hard to believe this is the 10th year of #RPDR and needless to say, so much has changed in that time. Drag has evolved into a mainstream art forum that not only celebrates queer culture but in a way acts as a forum of resistance to conformity. Drag, much like that first brick at stonewall (thrown by a queen btw) acts as a French-tipped middle finger to those trying throw us back into closets. This milestone season is much more than Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve and Talent. It’s a reminder that we are Queer, and still F*cking Here, and we aren’t going nowhere…!
Ok, we realize that’s a tad deep but, we’re excited for the new season and considering that “you-know-who” is our “know-no-what,” it’s perfect timing to unleash the 10s.
