After a Transformation Tuesday post on Instagram featuring Chasity St. Cartier, we couldn’t help but delve in further with this Puerto Rican dream.
Can you blame us?
Chasity’s look is all fire honey, and this goes for Ricardo too, the man (THE MAN) behind Cartier.
As they say, “get you someone who can do both.” And this most certainly applies here.
Based in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, Chasity St. Cartier dishes with DSD about being a muscle queen, J.Lo-level aspirations and always putting Ricardo first.
Drag Star Diva: When did you start doing drag?
Chasity St. Cartier: At the age of 19. (14 years ago.)
DSD: What was it about drag that attracted you?
CSC: I knew that (I) would never be J-Lo, so this would be the next best thing to do.
DSD: Where did your fabulous name come from?
CSC: Chasity came from a girl in college that I used to see. I loved her personality – a diva, yet sweet, and St. Cartier is just another pageant family.
DSD: We featured you on a Transformation Tuesday post on Instagram because your man side is just as hot as the Chasity side. How do you find the balance between the two?
CSC: I will always put Ricardo first. There was a time I put Chasity first and my male identity “struggled” to say the least.
DSD: Which side gets more attention?
CSC: I believe both get just as much attention.
DSD: More and more we have been seeing the term “muscle queen” become more popular. Would you consider yourself a muscle queen?
CSC: I’m into fitness and I like to look fit as a Ricardo. Yes, I would consider myself a muscle queen, but definitely not a “body builder.”
DSD: Your makeup skills are beyond amazing! What inspires your looks?
CSC: Thank you, I usually find inspiration in what I’m wearing for the night. I also enjoy makeup trends on Instagram.
DSD: Drag has opened doors for many performers these days. What are some of your best moments in drag?
CSC: Growing up I was shy and would avoid standing in front of large groups. I believe doing drag itself was my biggest accomplishment because I overcame the fear of standing in front of large audiences/groups.
DSD: Today, drag is so visible in all areas of entertainment. What do you think is the reason behind the popularity?
CSC: The transformation and the art behind it is what I think attracts so many people.
DSD: How far would you love to see Chasity go in her career?
CSC: I just want to be noticed for all the hard work I put into Chasity. Hopefully it will speak for itself and take me places.
DSD: You were at LA Drag Con this summer. Will you be at New York Drag Con this fall?
CSC: Yes, I will be working at the Drag Queen Divas booth selling Drag by Chariel wigs.
DSD: Where can we catch Chasity St. Cartier on the regular?
CSC: I’m a cast member at Vera nightclub in Cherry Hill. NJ.
